- Consort Class Spring term: The next 10 week term begins Wednesday March 31st and Saturday April 3rd. Cost: $100. The 90 minute sessions via Zoom include playing a melange of renaissance, baroque, medieval and modern music with the ORB Trio in real time with performance advice, historical information and lively banter. Below is a description of the classes we normally teach at the Community Music Center – due to the coronavirus, those classes are canceled through Spring Term 2021.
Gayle Neuman, Phil Neuman, and Cindy Markham (members of The Oregon Renaissance Band and The Fireside Social Orchestra) teach a number of early music performance classes at the Community Music Center, 3350 SE Francis St. in Portland, Oregon.
The winter session classes, celebrating 40 years on early music classes by the Neumans, will begin on Wednesday, January 8th, 2020.

Advanced Recorder
Challenging music from several periods for highly experienced playersRenaissance Song
A small choir of experienced sight-readers sing renaissance chansons, motets, balletts, and other early vocal forms - Wednesdays at 7:30pm
Recorder Level 3
Ensemble playing for experienced players who read both C and F fingerings and sight-read well - Renaissance Winds
Music for cornamusen, krummhorns, racketts, sordunes, and recorders for advanced players who also like to sing - Wednesdays at 8:30pm
Collegium Musicum
Music for a combination of voices, strings, recorders and other wind instruments for experienced players - Loud Band
Renaissance music for cornetto, sackbutts, shawms, bagpipes, and other double reeds for advanced players. We also play a modern recorder piece for fun.- Wednesdays at 7:30pm tba
Recorder Level 1
Learn recorder correctly from the beginning for SATB recorders

I have been playing alto recorder for 8 months with my teacher Esther but have no experience with ensemble groups. Is there a beginning class that I could take? Don’t know if I am ready for an intermediate class.
